Transparency & Methodology
Last Updated: March 1, 2026
Data Gathering
LSMINER LTD constructs its research by synthesizing publicly available trade records and geological survey data. Primary data sources include:
- UN Comtrade international trade statistics
- USGS Mineral Resources Program publications and commodity summaries
- World Gold Council quarterly demand and supply reports
- Silver Institute annual supply-demand surveys
- Central bank gold reserve statistics (IMF, BIS)
- LME and COMEX positioning and pricing data
- National geological survey publications from producing countries
Analytical Frameworks
Our analysis applies methodologies derived from established geophysical and trade flow models. These include:
- Supply modeling: Forward mine output projections based on reported reserves, grade decline trajectories, and planned capacity expansions.
- Demand modeling: Sector-by-sector demand quantification covering industrial, investment, monetary, and fabrication categories.
- Geochemical analysis: Ore body composition assessment and reserve estimation using mineral geochemistry principles.
- Trade flow mapping: Cross-referencing bilateral trade data with production and consumption statistics to identify supply-chain patterns.
- Geopolitical risk scoring: Country-level assessments of policy stability, infrastructure reliability, labor conditions, and export controls.
Publication Standards
Each report published through the LSMINER platform includes:
- A methodology section documenting the analytical approach used
- Source attribution for all data points cited
- Confidence assessments where forward projections are presented
- Defined scope and limitations of the analysis
